STEEL TRACE

Steel Trace explores space and volume by challenging the traditional role of the vase. Typically designed to contain, this vessel is stripped of its volumetric function and instead relies on the tension between structure and flower—between the rigid and the organic. Formed from a continuous line, this vase transforms a one-dimensional element into a spatial, physical presence. Crafted from hot-rolled 1/4” steel rod, the line is bent into an object that you can walk around, peer through, and experience as it casts shifting light and shadow. It frames absence, suggesting volume without enclosure, and invites interaction not through utility, but through perception and movement. It is not a container, but a question: Can gesture alone hold presence? Can a void be full?
