TULSA ADDITION
The Tulsa Addition is a thoughtful transformation of spaces within an existing building. On the second floor, two prefabricated pods are integrated into the structural bays to house a podcast recording studio and a video production room. Extensive analysis informed the pods' unique angular design, driven by program constraints, structural considerations, and the need to maintain critical view and circulation corridors.
The pods, split strategically, enhance circulation while revitalizing an underutilized area. On the rooftop, the redevelopment introduces a flexible auditorium and training space designed to accommodate over 150 people, with strong visual and thematic connections to Tulsa’s planes. This reimagined rooftop celebrates the synthesis of knowledge and nature and embodies the theme of "creating knowledge in the garden." Cohesion between the second-floor pods and rooftop space is achieved through shared materiality, ensuring the project reflects a unified architectural language.
